POSITION SUMMARY
The Pod Co-Lead Teacher shares day-to-day instructional and classroom leadership within an assigned pod alongside a fellow Co-Lead Teacher. Rather than a single lead-and-assistant structure, the two Co-Leads jointly plan curriculum, manage the daily schedule, communicate with families, and mentor Teacher Assistants within the room. This role is designed to build bench strength for future Lead Teacher and administrative advancement while distributing classroom leadership responsibilities across two qualified educators.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Co-plan and co-deliver developmentally appropriate curriculum in partnership with the second Co-Lead Teacher assigned to the pod Maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment in compliance with WA DCYF licensing standards Share responsibility for daily attendance, ratios, health checks, and required documentation Communicate proactively and consistently with families regarding milestones, incidents, and daily highlights Mentor and provide day-to-day direction to Teacher Assistants and classroom support staff Conduct and contribute to ongoing developmental observations and portfolio documentation for each child Partner with the Assistant Director and School Director on classroom staffing, room transitions, and enrollment tours Model and uphold Goddard School health, safety, and curriculum standards at all times Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school-wide events (open houses, graduation, family nights) Step into acting Lead Teacher responsibilities in the other Co-Lead's absence
BASELINE QUALIFICATIONS
(ALL PODS) Must meet WA DCYF minimum qualifications for a Lead Teacher, including required background clearance, First Aid/CPR, and Food Handler's Permit Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a licensed early learning classroom

Pod Co-Lead Teacher openings are being filled across the following five pods. Candidates may indicate a preferred pod or openness to placement based on program need.
