Position Summary The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children. You will lead with intention, design child-centered learning experiences, and collaborate with colleagues to uphold the values of inquiry, creativity, and joy that define Wright's Choice. Core Responsibilities Design and implement developmentally appropriate, child-led learning projects and enrichment activities aligned with the Reggio Emilia approach. Create a respectful and inclusive environment that supports social-emotional learning and encourages cooperative play. Supervise and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children in both indoor and outdoor settings. Build trusting relationships with families by communicating children's progress and experiences through daily conversations. Support classroom organization, documentation, and learning environment aesthetics. Collaborate with leadership on program goals, continuous improvement, and special events. Assist with meal/snack distribution and maintain hygienic classroom practices. Occasionally provide support in other classrooms as needed (floater/break coverage). Engage in Professional Development courses throughout the school year Required Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience in a licensed early learning or school-age program. High school diploma or GED (required); ECE stackable certificates preferred. Completion of or willingness to obtain: 30 STARS training (MERIT) within 90 days of hire CPR/First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogen, and Food Handler's Certification Ability to pass a WA State background check and TB test. Commitment to equity, inclusion, and the developmental needs of all learners. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and engage physically with children at their level. Must have an ECE initial certificate or equivalent, or within five years of being hired or promoted or obtain an ECE short certificate or equivalent within two years of receiving the initial certificate.
