Journey School Lynnwood is looking for thoughtful, playful, and engaged Toddler Teachers to join our teaching community. We're looking for teachers who are patient, grounded, collaborative, and genuinely enjoy being with young children. At Journey, we believe children are capable, curious individuals who learn through relationships, exploration, play, and meaningful experiences. About Journey Journey is a Reggio-inspired, nature-based partial outdoor program . Our teachers create environments that encourage children to investigate, ask questions, take appropriate risks, build relationships, and make connections through hands-on experiences. Teachers work alongside children as observers, partners, and guides—and spend plenty of time outside in all seasons and all kinds of Pacific Northwest weather. Teaching Toddlers at Journey The toddler years are an incredible period of growth, independence, language, connection, and discovery. We're looking for teachers who enjoy: Building warm, secure relationships with young children Getting on the floor and genuinely joining children's play Encouraging emerging independence and self-help skills Supporting big feelings with patience and consistency Supporting diapering and potty learning respectfully Creating hands-on, sensory-rich experiences Spending lots of time learning and exploring outdoors Working collaboratively as part of a teaching team Toddler experience is preferred, but we consider education, experience, disposition, and overall fit with Journey. Qualifications Required 18+ with a High School Diploma/GED Strong communication and organizational skills Comfortable outdoors in all weather and seasons Able to stand/walk for much of the day and lift up to 50 lbs ✓ Able to pass a DCYF background check Required CPR/First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Food Handler, MMR, and TB documentation—or willingness to obtain upon hire Preferred 1-2+ years of early childhood experience Experience working with toddlers and/or preschool-aged children ECE, CDA, Early Childhood Development coursework, or related education Candidates must meet or be actively working toward applicable Washington State ECE requirements if they do not hold a college degree.
