$20- $22 + benefits About the Role Tiny Treasures Early Learning Center is opening a brand-new 70-child licensed center in Mountlake Terrace this September. We are hiring multiple founding Lead Teachers across our 5 classrooms. We are hiring Lead Teachers for the following age groups: Toddler (ages 12-30 months) Preschool (ages 3-4) Pre-K (ages 4-5) As a founding teacher, you will help shape your classroom from day one — choose materials, set the daily rhythm, and build lasting relationships with families.
What You'll Do Lead Your Classroom:
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based learning aligned with Washington Early Learning and Development Guidelines for your age group.
Provide Loving Care:
Create a warm, safe environment. Toddler teachers manage diapering, feeding, naps, and transitions. Preschool/Pre-K teachers support kindergarten readiness, social-emotional growth, and early literacy/numeracy. Partner with
Families:
Daily communication via brightwheel, parent conferences, and developmental milestone tracking.
Mentor Your Assistant:
Provide on-the-job training and model best practices for your assistant teacher.
Maintain Compliance:
Full
WAC 110-300
compliance — ratios, supervision, sanitation, health and safety protocols.
Document & Assess:
Complete attendance, incident reports, developmental observations, and learning portfolios. Required Qualifications (per
WAC 110-300-0100
) ECE Initial Certificate or equivalent at hire (or willing to complete within 5 years). 1+ year experience working with children in your preferred age group at a licensed childcare center. Active MERIT account with WA DCYF. Child Care Basics (CCB), pediatric CPR/First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Food Handler's Permit, negative TB test, MMR immunity (or willing to complete before September 1). DCYF Portable Background Check clearance. 18+ years old; legally authorized to work in the U.S. Strong written and verbal English communication. Preferred Qualifications ECE Short Certificate, State Certificate, Associate's, or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Elementary Education. CDA credential with age-appropriate endorsement (infant/toddler or preschool). 2+ years of lead teaching experience in a licensed center. Experience with brightwheel or similar childcare communication software. Familiarity with curriculum approaches (Creative Curriculum, HighScope, Reggio Emilia, Montessori, RIE, Pikler). Bilingual (Spanish, Korean, Mandarin, Vietnamese, etc.). Familiarity with Early Achievers (WA QRIS) and continuous quality improvement. Experience with developmental assessment tools (Teaching Strategies
GOLD, ASQ
). Compensation & Benefits •
Hourly Wage:
$20 - $22 per hour, based on education, experience, and age group •
