At Sequoia's Treehouse Children's Center, we are committed to providing career opportunities for Early Childhood Teachers/Educators. Position:
Full-time Lead Teachers/Full-time Asst.
Teachers FT Hours:
40 hours per week: Monday-Friday The heart of Sequoia's Treehouse Children's Center is its respect of the young child. We believe all children are born to be great thinkers. As an innovative school we serve children ages 6 weeks through 13 years. Creative growth is encouraged by designing a curriculum that allows each child to contribute in his or her unique way. Children, parents, teachers, and the environment form a complete circle of learning, inspiring all to join in the process. We are outdoor focused, nature and Reggio Emilia inspired, we have access to acreage to further allow children to explore and play, and Sequoia's Farm School is located 5 minutes driving time to the childcare center (older children go on field trips to the Farm). We offer childcare, a Farm School, School-age after school care, and Farm Summer Camp. We are located in NE Olympia. At the Center we have goats and at the Farm we have ponies, pigs, alpacas, sheep, chickens, a peacock, and barn cats. Qualified candidates will have experience working with children, preferably birth to 5 years, preferably have their 30 hours stars (Associates degree is highly encouraged); possess clear communication skills, verbally and in written form; and have a basic proficiency using a tablet/computer. Candidates will also have an attention to detail, effective interpersonal and problem solving skills, and be organized and able to multi-task. Familiarity with the philosophies of the schools of Reggio Emilia (nature inspired, play-based) is preferred--a willingness to study more is encouraged.
