Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and learning experiences that support children's cognitive, social-emotional, language, literacy, physical, and creative development. Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment where all children feel welcomed and supported. Provide attentive daily care and supervision for children, including assisting with meals, toileting, transitions and outdoor play. Build positive relationships with children and families while encouraging family engagement and participation. Conduct required child assessments, observations, screenings, documentation, and developmental monitoring in accordance with ECEAP and DCYF requirements. Participate in family conferences, home visits, and/or other family partnership activities as required by ECEAP Performance Standards. Collaborate with the Director, Assistant Director, support staff, specialists, and/or community partners to meet the needs of children and families. Follow all health, safety, sanitation, licensing, and program policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Hold a Washington State ECE Initial Certificate (or equivalent) Current 30-Hour STARS Certificate. Experience working with preschool-aged children in an early learning or educational setting preferred. Knowledge of child development, developmentally appropriate practices, and preschool curriculum. Knowledge of or willingness to learn and implement DCYF requirements and Washington State ECEAP Performance Standards Strong classroom management and positive behavior guidance skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, families, and staff. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred). Bloodborne Pathogens Training (preferred). Provide negative TB test. Washington State Food Worker Card (preferred). Physical Requirements Ability to actively supervise preschool-aged children throughout the day. Ability to sit, kneel, bend, squat, and work on the floor with children. Ability to respond quickly to children's needs and emergencies. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Work Schedule Monday-Thursday:
8:00 AM•4:00 PM Occasional Fridays, as needed Pay $18.00•21.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
