Job Description

Joyous Town Preschool is expanding to its second location in Shoreline! Our newest location is looking for qualified and fun teachers to join our dream team! We offer a supportive environment for our teachers and empower them with the resources they need to create a positive learning environment for our students. We are looking for a full-time Lead Teacher for our toddler classroom (ages 15 months to 3 years) who is passionate and dedicated to providing high-quality care for young children. Our educators brighten children's lives every day while building a rewarding future for themselves. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic classroom leader with creative ideas and a strong desire to make a meaningful impact on our students. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for the daily planning, management, and supervision of the classroom and children, with support from a teaching assistant. At Joyous Town, we are dedicated to providing a holistic approach to early education by incorporating Montessori and STEAM learning methods. We also integrate biblical values into our daily teaching.
Responsibilities:
Models behavior : works cooperatively with others, acknowledges and respects others; feelings; builds and strengthens positive relationships with children, families and staff. Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans by using Montessori and STEAM curriculum approach. Set up and maintain a safe, clean, and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards Conducts parent conferences and meetings Communicate with parents effectively and professionally on a weekly and as-needed basis Supervise and interact with children in a positive manner. Maintain a clean and organized learning environment. Use positive guidance methods that strengthen each child's problem-solving and conflict resolution skills Observe, assess and assist in the development of social skills, motor skills, and language skills of the students. Maintain records of children's attendance, activities, and development. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
One year of child care teaching experience Must pass background check and TB test Have or be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR Certification Food Handler's Permit a plus but can be obtained after hire Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds Short Certificate in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred, or willingness to obtain one by the end of 2027.
