Float / Breaker Enriched Beginnings Learning Center on 57th Spokane, WA Job Details Full-time $18 - $19 an hour 18 hours ago Qualifications School experience Interpersonal skills Working with individuals with disabilities First Aid Certification Classroom experience Full Job Description Overview Join our team as a Float / Breaker Teacher , an essential role that helps keep our classrooms running smoothly each day. As a Breaker, you will rotate throughout the center to provide teachers with their scheduled breaks and lunches while ensuring children continue to receive the same high-quality care and supervision they are accustomed to. You will provide extra support wherever it's needed—assisting teachers with activities, helping maintain classroom organization, engaging with children, and stepping in to support transitions and daily routines. This position is perfect for someone who is flexible, dependable, enjoys variety, and thrives in a fast-paced childcare environment. Responsibilities Step into classrooms throughout the day to relieve teachers for scheduled breaks and lunches while maintaining a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children. Quickly adapt to different classrooms, age groups, routines, and teaching styles to provide seamless support. Assist teachers during downtime by helping with classroom activities, art projects, circle time, outdoor play, meal service, diapering, toileting, and nap routines as needed. Build positive relationships with children across all age groups, from infants through preschool, providing consistent care and encouragement. Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through engaging and age-appropriate interactions. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment by sanitizing toys, restocking supplies, and completing light housekeeping tasks. Assist with classroom transitions and help ensure licensing regulations, safety standards, and center policies are followed at all times. Work collaboratively with all members of the teaching team, communicating effectively and stepping in wherever additional support is needed. Demonstrate flexibility by adjusting daily responsibilities based on the needs of the center and staffing requirements. Model professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude while contributing to a supportive team culture. Skills Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, or nannying roles; classroom experience is highly valued Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Ability to manage behavior with patience and positive reinforcement techniques First aid certification or willingness to obtain it promptly to ensure children's safety at all times Compassionate caregiving skills for working with individuals with disabilities or special needs when required Experience caring for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers—understanding their unique needs at each stage of development Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and families Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing daily priorities within a busy childcare environment Join us as a Float / Breaker if you're passionate about nurturing young minds and eager to support a team dedicated to fostering growth through engaging care.
