Family-Flex Childcare is seeking a caring, dependable, and growth-minded Daycare Teacher / Director-in-Training to join our team. In this role, you'll start out as a Daycare Teacher with direct classroom responsibilities and will grow into the role of a Center Director. You'll work directly with the organization's owners, working collaboratively to best serve families by shaping policy, creating curriculum, and delivering exceptional childcare. This is more than a teaching position—we are looking for a future leader with both the qualifications and character to positively influence children, families, and staff. Primary Responsibilities

• Provide safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for children.
• Plan and lead engaging learning activities.
• Maintain a positive, clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
• Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
• Ensure all health, safety, and licensing requirements are met/followed.
• Maintain open and effective communication with families and staff.
• Support the daily operation of the daycare as needed.

Required Qualifications Candidates must:

• Have 3+ years of daycare or early childhood education experience
• Possess a Washington State ECE State Certificate or an approved equivalent.
• Meet all applicable Washington State DCYF requirements for employment in a licensed child care center.
• Have the ability and desire to gain the teaching, administrative, and leadership experience necessary for future advancement toward a Center Director role.
• Demonstrate strong communication, organization, professionalism, and problem-solving skills.
• Be dependable and able to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Family-Flex is growing quickly and needs you to be able to be a teacher for now, while also desiring the role of a Center Director in the near future. Advancement may include increased responsibility in areas such as staff support, scheduling, licensing compliance, family communication, program operations, and team leadership. Promotion to a Center Director role is based on demonstrated performance, leadership ability, completion of all applicable qualifications, required experience, and the needs of the organization. Family-Flex Childcare is growing quickly. With our unique model for childcare, we have a tremendous amount of demand. We're growing faster than we can keep up and that comes with its own set of challenges and stressors. Because we've only been around for 18 months, there are systems, processes, procedures, and a whole host of other things not yet developed. If you are someone who needs structure to thrive, this may not be the role for you (at least not yet). Because of Family-Flex's youth, we do not yet offer benefits like healthcare, 401(k), or extensive paid time off. We are working towards these things, but in all honesty it will take several years to get there.
