This position is ideal for an educator who enjoys working collaboratively with families and supporting early childhood development in a cooperative, play-based learning environment . Instruction in this program combines whole-group learning, small-group rotations, and guided play , reinforced through hands-on projects and real-world experiences .

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Class Time:

Tuesday & Wednesday 9:00am - 11:00am (Toddler Class) Thursday & Friday 9:00am - 11:30am (Preschool Class)

Hours:

Minimum of 13 hours per week , including: Approximately 9 hours of classroom instruction Classroom set-up and clean-up Lesson planning Participation in monthly meetings About Our Program Northwest Parent Cooperative Preschool operates in partnership with the Community Colleges of Spokane and our parent board . Our cooperative model allows parents to learn about child development while participating alongside their child in the classroom . The teacher works closely with parents to guide classroom activities and support family learning. Northwest Parent Cooperative Preschool's long-standing mission of play-based, relationship-centered early education . This program reflects the cooperative's mission to expand access to high-quality, child-centered early education within a supportive community environment. Northwest Parent Cooperative follows District 81 school year schedule. Responsibilities Provide a consistent and structured classroom routine Develop and implement engaging play-based daily lesson plans that support: Early literacy: vocabulary development, phonics, reading strategies, fine motor skills, and handwriting Foundational math: number sense, patterns, and problem-solving Executive functioning and self-regulation Social-emotional development Incorporate music, movement, science, and experiential learning Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment Collaborate with parents in the cooperative classroom model Work with the preschool parent board Participate in monthly meetings and program planning Qualifications Previous experience working with young children (ages 2 - 4) required Degree in Education Strong leadership and classroom management skills High energy, flexibility, and a positive attitude Ability to collaborate with parents in a cooperative preschool setting Compensation Starting at $22/hour , depending on experience.
