4K Teacher - Southern Bluffs Elementary School

Position Start Date 8/11/2026 Salary/Wage Per negotiated contract Appointment Type Full Time Description The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE 4K Teacher at Southern Bluffs Elementary School beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.

Projected start date:

August 11, 2026. Wisconsin certification 1088 with appropriate low/high grade required. Early Childhood preferred. Prefer applicants possessing the following qualifications: Ability to collaborate with early childhood professionals (e.g. Early Childhood-Special Education, Preschool, Kindergarten, First Grade). Ability to work with sensitivity in a multicultural setting with children of all abilities. Excellence in using developmentally appropriate practices and hands-on learning. Conversant with current strategies for emergent readers, math manipulation and thematic curriculum. Knowledge of current early childhood literature and approaches to teaching/learning. Adaptable to changing educational settings. Ability to develop successful parent engagement activities. Knowledge of a play-based preschool model of instruction and a firm understanding of the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards.

Other skills and dispositions:

Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children. Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and families. Manage schedules including lessons, play, breaks and meals. Strong understanding of child behavior, Pyramid Model practices, and evidence based practices to prevent, teach and reinforce behavior.
