This is not just a teaching role—we are looking for someone who is comfortable leading a classroom, setting expectations, supporting staff, and creating a strong, consistent environment for both children and team members. About Our Program We follow a play-based, emergent curriculum , allowing children's interests to guide learning while supporting development across all domains. Our mixed-age classroom model (ages 3-5) offers unique benefits: Encourages peer learning and mentorship Supports social-emotional growth across developmental stages Allows children to learn at their own pace Builds a strong sense of community within the classroom We also value smaller class sizes , allowing for more meaningful connections and individualized support. Duties What You'll Do Lead a mixed-age classroom with confidence, structure, and consistency Plan and implement emergent, play-based learning experiences Support children's social-emotional development and independence Guide and support assistant teachers within the classroom Maintain a calm, organized, and engaging environment Communicate effectively with families and leadership Ensure compliance with all licensing and safety standards Requirements ✅ Qualifications Experience as a Lead Teacher in a licensed childcare setting preferred Wisconsin Registry credentials (or willingness to obtain) Strong understanding of play-based and emergent curriculum Excellent communication and leadership skills Nice To Haves What We're Looking For We are looking for a teacher who: Is comfortable taking charge and leading a classroom Can make decisions, set boundaries, and follow through Has strong classroom management skills Understands child development across ages 3-5 Values collaboration but can also work independently Is reliable, consistent, and professional
