Lead Teachers will plan and facilitate developmental activities as part of a comprehensive program for children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth Part time (Build your own schedule): 8:15am

Duties Plan curriculum that is appropriate for the ages and developmental levels consistent with UHP philosophy and goals. Provide care and protection for assigned group of children, ensuring that children are always supervised, health and safety procedures are followed, and appropriate staff/child ratios are maintained. Interact with children in all areas of the program and encourage children to develop positive social relationships with each other. Treat all children with dignity and respect and allow for individual differences by: Providing an atmosphere of acceptance and caring for each child. Showing as much individual attention as possible to each child. Giving positive feedback whenever possible. Nurturing each child's growing independence and self-identity. Providing a curriculum that helps each child develop to their fullest potential in each area of development. Recognize and respect the multicultural diversity of UHP's population by: Being sensitive and open to learning about the individual cultures represented in the school. Providing ways for families to share aspects of their culture in the program. Seeking out books, learning materials, and activities to use in the program that depict children and families from many cultures, races, family groupings, etc. Practicing excellent communication skills and utilizing different strategies to communicate with ESL children and parents, e.g., rephrasing confusing statements, writing notes, talking with both parents, asking another parent to translate, etc. Conduct Ready, Set, Go conferences prior to the start of the Academic Year. Maintain observational records for each child and prepare progress reports. Meet with parents each semester for parent/teacher conferences to discuss children's progress reports, and more often as requested. Be available to talk to parents about their children on an ongoing basis during drop-off and pick-up. Coordinate attendance at Board meetings with co-teacher to ensure representation of co-teaching team. Assist in UHP's compliance with all regulatory requirements including licensing and accreditation requirements. Perform other duties relevant to the needs of the program, as determined cooperatively by the UHP Staff, UHP Board, and Director. Requirements A DPI teaching license from the State of Wisconsin that includes Pre-K (4K), a Bachelor's Degree to apply for a substitute teaching license or a Bachelor's Degree and the commitment to acquire a 4K teaching license is a requirement for this position. Warm, friendly personality and able to relate well to children. Sensitive to the feelings and needs of others. Willing to fulfill job responsibilities in accordance with UHP program philosophy. Professional demeanor towards children, families, parent helpers, and co-workers. Able to work with co-teacher in cooperation with the Director and/or Administrator, other teachers, members of the UHP Board, and all families of the school to provide a stimulating and safe environment for the children. At least 18 years of age. At least 320 hours of experience as an assistant child care teacher in a group child care center or other approved early childhood setting. Able to lift 2
  • 7-year-old children if needed up to 50 pounds.
Prior to assuming the position, a person hired to be a child care teacher shall complete or obtain coursework related to this position. Complete a background check. We will assist you to fulfill other required training for the position. Maintain vaccination for

PAID HOLIDAYS
Paid vacation days for teacher shall include the following: Labor Day Wednesday before Thanksgiving Day, Thanksgiving Day, and the Friday after Thanksgiving Martin Luther King Day
SICK DAYS
Teacher shall be allowed without deduction in the agreed fee, twelve (12) sick days. BONUS If enrollment is at maximum teacher will be paid a bonus at the end of the fall and the spring semesters.
INSERVICE
Within the salary as specified in this agreement, is included the following paid in-service time: Thirteen and a half (13.5) hours of staff meeting time Two (2) days (3.5 hours/day) for teacher to attend state and regional conferences as described on attached benefits. Each semester, one 2-hour planning/in-service to be held during set-up/close-down weeks.
CONTINUING EDUCATION UHP
will pay up to a maximum of half of $100.00 a year per staff member, toward teacher's continuing professional education as approved by the Board of Directors.

Insurance/Retirement Benefits:
Each employee will receive $50 per month to put toward their own insurance and/or retirement account.
PHONE UHP
will pay $40 per month toward employee phone.
CHILDCARE BENEFIT
All teacher children receive 50% tuition. This benefit starts after teacher passes probationary period.
