Big Apple recognizes children as creators and thinkers and we invite children to construct their world in a rich and responsive environment. Big Apple uses Creative Curriculum within its classrooms. We are searching for someone who can help to create a fun environment and incorporate educational programs that assist in our children's development. A Lead teacher will be responsible for monitoring and teaching the one year to five year old children in our program, as well as partnering with our team to enhance the learning environment at our school. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop and maintain a constructive and ongoing rapport with children and families Create activities that are fun and educational for the children both in group and one on one settings Collaborate with other teachers to ensure that the school fosters an environment that is inviting and nurturing for every child Deliver reports on potential concerns about children to administration as needed Maintain day-to-day classroom activities, including structured lessons, free play, bathroom breaks, lunch time and rest time for children Keep records of children's progress, routines, and interests, and keep parents informed about their child's development Qualifications and skills preferred; Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field Minimum of Level 6 on the registry 2+ years' experience working with children Knowledge of Creative Curriculum; not required Excellent verbal and written communication skills
