The Lead Toddler Teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment for toddlers. This role includes planning age-appropriate activities, supporting children's social and emotional development, communicating with families, and leading the daily routines of the classroom.

• Classroom Leadership
• Lead and manage a toddler classroom in a safe, caring, and organized manner.
• Create a warm, welcoming, and positive environment for children, families, and staff.
• Supervise toddlers closely at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Help establish and maintain consistent daily routines, including meals, naps, diapering/toileting, outdoor play, and learning activities.
• Guide assistant teachers or support staff in classroom expectations, routines, and daily responsibilities.
• Encourage teamwork and positive communication among classroom staff. Child Development & Learning
• Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities that support toddler development, including:
• Language and communication skills
• Fine and gross motor skills
• Social and emotional development
• Early problem-solving skills
• Music, movement, art, sensory play, and outdoor play
• Provide hands-on learning experiences that are fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.
• Encourage independence, self-help skills, and positive behavior.
• Support children as they learn to share, take turns, express emotions, and interact with others.
• Use positive guidance techniques, redirection, and patience when addressing challenging behaviors.
• Observe children's growth and development and communicate any concerns to the director or appropriate staff. Health, Safety & Supervision
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
• Follow all childcare licensing rules, center policies, and health and safety procedures.
• Supervise children during indoor play, outdoor play, meals, naps, transitions, and diapering/toileting.
• Follow proper diapering, handwashing, sanitizing, and cleaning procedures.
• Assist with potty training when appropriate.
• Report injuries, incidents, illnesses, or concerns to the director and parents according to center policy.
• Complete required safety training, including CPR/First Aid, if not already certified.
• Ensure all children are accounted for throughout the day. Family Communication
• Build positive, respectful relationships with parents and guardians.
• Communicate with families about their child's day, including meals, naps, diapering/toileting, activities, and any concerns.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
• Provide updates in a professional and friendly manner.
• Work with families and the director to support each child's individual needs. Daily Classroom Duties
• Prepare and organize classroom materials and activities.
• Assist children during meals and snacks.
• Help children rest during nap time and maintain a calm nap environment.
• Change diapers and assist with toileting as needed.
• Clean and sanitize toys, tables, chairs, changing areas, and classroom materials.
• Maintain daily reports, attendance, incident reports, and other required documentation.
• Help keep the classroom stocked with supplies and notify management when items are needed.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and center events as needed. Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience working with toddlers or young children in a childcare, preschool, daycare, school, church, camp, or similar setting.
• Knowledge of toddler development and age-appropriate classroom practices.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred, but not required. Training will be provided if needed.
• Early childhood education coursework or credentials are a plus, but not required. Required Qualifications

• Physical Requirements The Lead Toddler Teacher must be able to:
• Lift and carry young children as needed.
• Sit, stand, bend, kneel, and move around the classroom throughout the day.
• Supervise children indoors and outdoors.
• Participate in floor play, movement activities, and outdoor play.
• Assist with diapering, toileting, meals, naps, and classroom cleaning.
• Respond quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
