About the Role We are looking for a caring, dependable, and motivated Preschool Teacher to join our team. This position is perfect for someone who loves working with young children and is passionate about helping them build the skills they need to be successful in kindergarten and beyond. The Preschool Teacher will create a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment where children can learn, explore, and grow. The main focus of this role is to help preschool-aged children develop important kindergarten readiness skills, including early literacy, math, social skills, independence, following directions, problem-solving, and classroom routines. Experience in early childhood education or childcare is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who is patient, energetic, dependable, and eager to learn. Key Responsibilities Kindergarten Readiness Help prepare children for a successful transition into kindergarten. Teach and reinforce important school-readiness skills, including: Recognizing letters and letter sounds Writing names and beginning writing skills Recognizing numbers, counting, and basic math concepts Identifying colors, shapes, and patterns Listening and following multi-step directions Sitting for group time and participating in classroom activities Taking turns, sharing, and working with others Problem-solving and expressing emotions appropriately Building independence with personal belongings, bathroom routines, and daily tasks Encourage confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning. Help children develop the attention span and self-control needed for a kindergarten classroom. Classroom Teaching Duties Plan and lead age-appropriate lessons and activities that support learning and development. Create daily activities that include literacy, math, science, art, music, movement, sensory play, and outdoor play. Read stories, sing songs, lead discussions, and encourage children to ask questions. Provide hands-on learning experiences that are fun, engaging, and meaningful. Support children in developing fine motor skills through activities such as cutting, tracing, coloring, writing, building, and drawing. Support gross motor development through movement, outdoor play, games, and physical activities. Use a variety of teaching methods to meet the needs of different learners. Encourage creativity, imagination, and independent thinking. Social & Emotional Development Help children learn how to express their feelings using words. Teach positive behavior, kindness, respect, and cooperation. Support children in learning how to make friends and solve conflicts appropriately. Use positive guidance, redirection, and encouragement. Help children build confidence and independence. Create a classroom environment where children feel safe, loved, and supported. Model respectful communication and appropriate behavior. Classroom Management Maintain a structured, organized, and positive classroom environment. Establish and follow consistent daily routines. Prepare children for transitions throughout the day. Set clear classroom expectations and help children understand rules and responsibilities. Supervise children closely at all times to ensure safety. Guide assistant teachers or classroom support staff as needed. Keep children engaged and actively involved in learning activities. Health, Safety & Daily Care Follow all childcare licensing rules, center policies, and health and safety procedures. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom. Supervise children during indoor play, outdoor play, meals, rest time, bathroom breaks, and transitions. Assist children with toileting, handwashing, meals, and self-help skills as needed. Clean and sanitize classroom materials, toys, tables, and learning areas. Report injuries, illnesses, incidents, or concerns to the director and families according to center policy. Maintain accurate attendance, daily reports, incident reports, and other required documentation. Family Communication Build positive and professional relationships with parents and guardians. Communicate with families about their child's progress, behavior, strengths, and areas for growth. Share updates about classroom activities, learning goals, and kindergarten readiness skills. Partner with families to support each child's individual needs. Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff. Provide encouragement and resources to help families support learning at home. Curriculum & Assessment Follow the center's curriculum or help create lesson plans that support preschool learning goals. Observe children regularly to track growth and development. Identify each child's strengths and areas where extra support may be needed. Prepare activities that support different learning levels within the classroom.

Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a childcare, preschool, daycare, school, camp, church, or similar setting. Knowledge of early childhood development and kindergarten readiness skills. Experience creating or following lesson plans. CPR/First Aid certification preferred, but not required. Training can be provided. Early childhood education coursework, CDA, degree, or related credentials are a plus, but not required. Required Qualifications Must genuinely love working with children. Must be patient, nurturing, dependable, and responsible. Must be able to create a positive and structured learning environment. Must be willing to teach and support kindergarten readiness skills. Must have strong communication skills. Must work well with children, families, and coworkers. Must be able to follow center policies and state licensing requirements. Must be able to pass all required background checks. Must be willing to complete required trainings. Sit on the floor and participate in child-level activities. Supervise children indoors and outdoors. Lift or assist children when needed. Participate in movement activities, outdoor play, and classroom routines. Respond quickly and calmly in emergency situations. Assist with classroom cleaning, organizing, and sanitizing. Compensation Pay is dependent on experience, qualifications, and background. Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who has a passion for working with children and helping them prepare for kindergarten.
