(Search Re-Opened) The University of Maine at Presque Isle is seeking an on-campus tenure-track Assistant orAssociate Professor of Psychology beginning as soon as January 1, 2027 for an academic year (9 month) appointment. The typical work yearfor this position is September 1 - May 31 of each year. The successful candidate will primarily teach undergraduate courses in Psychology(area of expertise open). Candidates who can teach courses in clinical/counseling psychology as well as some courses in researchmethodology, biological psychology, or I/O psychology are preferred. Responsibilities will encompass course instruction and development,advising, engaging in campus and professional service, collaborating with colleagues at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, and fosteringopportunities for undergraduate experiential learning. Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the minimum salary for Assistant Professor is$64,711 and minimum salary for Associate Professor is $73,786, commensurate with education and experience. Key Responsibilities include (not limited to): Deliver a minimum of four courses, or equivalent, per semester at bothintroductory and advanced levels, employing a blend of traditional and innovative modalities (competency-based, online, hyflex, and/orin-person). Actively contribute to the academic community through campus and professional service endeavors. Assist in thedevelopment, instruction, and administration of the undergraduate psychology program. Develop initiatives that involve undergraduatestudents, potentially leading to field placements, independent projects, or conference presentations/publications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to collaborate withinthe academic community and engage with external stakeholders; proficiency in utilizing innovative teaching methods and technology to enhancestudent learning experiences, including online instruction; willingness to travel occasionally.

Required Qualifications:

A doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PSYD) or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Doctoral candidates whoare ABD and plan to defend their dissertation prior to January 2027 will be considered.

Background inClinical/Counseling Psychology with an ability to teach/develop courses that will complement existing areas of faculty expertise.
