Liberal Arts - Philosophy Bucknell University, Department of Psychology, invites applications for an entry-level one-year visiting assistant professor position with the possibility of a second year contingent on the first year's performance, in the area of developmental psychopathology, child clinical psychology, developmental neuropsychology and/or developmental cognitive neuroscience, beginning in August 2013. As part of the six-course per year teaching load, the successful candidate will be expected to teach from among: General Psychology (individual or team-taught options), developmental neuropsychology or developmental cognitive neuroscience, a research methods course, and an advanced seminar in the candidate's area of expertise. Preference will be given to candidates who will have earned a Ph.D. in Psychology with research emphasis on some aspect of developmental psychology particularly as it relates to the biological or neural bases of development. The ideal candidate should be able to bridge areas of traditional developmental psychology and cognitive neuroscience, which would serve majors in Psychology as well as an interdisciplinary major in Neuroscience. Bucknell is a highly selective, primarily undergraduate (3500 undergraduates and 150 masters students) institution, combining a strong liberal arts tradition with characteristics of a comprehensive university.
