The School of Psychology at Notre Dame de Namur University seeks a student and university-centered, full-time, Non-Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor of Psychology to serve as a core member of a small, cohesive team. This is a 12-month position with irregular hours during the Spring, Summer, and Fall, including afternoon, evening, and occasional weekends. The position includes teaching, leadership, academic, and university service that promote the SOP's growth and development, including developing external partnerships and supporting growth initiatives through collaborating with non-profits, professional events, program development, grant writing, the development of continuing education opportunities, and other administrative duties as assigned.Full Description:
The School of Psychology at Notre Dame de Namur University seeks a student and university-centered full-time Non-Tenure-Track Assistant/ Associate Professor of Psychology to serve as a core member of a small, cohesive team. This is a 12-month faculty position with irregular hours during the Spring, Summer, and Fall, including afternoon, evening, and occasional weekends. The position includes teaching, leadership, academic, and university service, including teaching in the School of Psychology as well as academic and administrative service to the SOP and NDNU that promote the SOP's growth and development. This involves developing external partnerships and growth initiatives, such as collaborating with nonprofits, participating in professional events, developing programs, writing grants, creating continuing education opportunities, and performing other administrative duties as assigned. Expertise in Canvas LMS and the ability to teach using various teaching pedagogies are required.Job duties:
Teach a variety of courses within the School of Psychology, remaining relevant and up to date with in-person and online pedagogical practices in undergraduate and graduate classrooms. Collaborate with the SOP Dean on NDNU and SOP administrative tasks, including University and School service, serving on committees, engaging in program assessments, and developing external partnerships to support recruitment and program growth. Hold high visibility in the community and across California to develop relationships with external partnerships that support recruiting efforts, admissions, and state-wide growth for the School of Psychology, including by attending functions, benefits, events, professional conferences, and networking events. Developing external partnerships and growth initiatives, such as collaborating with nonprofits, participating in professional events, developing programs, writing grants, creating continuing education opportunities, and performing other administrative duties as assigned Qualifications (Necessary): Doctoral Degree (PhD, Psy.D., or EdD) Psychology background (PhD or PsyD) Clinical psychologist license and active clinical practice Experience working in faculty leadership position/s Experience working with Psychology Degree programs (undergraduate and/or graduate) Experience working with and/or teaching a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate, traditional and non-traditional, first-generation students Expertise in online course development, pedagogy, and delivery High level of responsiveness and expertise in communicating with faculty and students Responsiveness and flexibility to meet the Departmental and student needs of graduate and undergraduate students who work full-time and attend school during non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends. Other Qualifications (Highly Desirable): Compatible with the University and Department Mission, Philosophy, and Hallmarks Awareness of Clinical Psychology degree and licensure requirements including the Board of Behavioral Sciences regulations Familiarity with WSCUC accreditation standards Excellent teamwork and collaborative skills within a university setting
