Eastern Washington University's School of Psychology invites applications for a full-time, academic year, Lecturer position, specializing in School Psychology or a related emphasis to begin September 16, 2026. This lecturer position is a full-time, one-year appointment, and eligible for renewal for successive annual appointments. This position requires candidates to be located in or willing to relocate to the greater Spokane-Cheney area. Responsibilities- Effectively teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses to fulfill the needs of the Programs and School. Final courses will be determined in consultation with the Chair. Courses at the graduate level will be specific to expertise and support offerings in our NASP
- Accredited EdS School Psychology Program. Courses at the undergraduate level may include Introductory Psychology, Great Works in Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Research Method, Senior Capstone, or others. Additional teaching responsibilities may include student advising and practicum/internship/research/portfolio supervision.
- Collecting, retaining, and disseminating course and program data for accrediting bodies and to maintain professional standards.
- Collaborating with colleagues in utilization of creativity and best practice knowledge in curriculum development, classroom instruction, and student supervision.
- Supervising students engaged in applied experiences such as research, practicum, portfolio, and internship
- Attending and participating in weekly School meetings; School, College, and University meetings retreats, and graduation ceremonies, and program specific collaboration teams meetings as well as collaborating with colleagues to fulfill the missions of the School of Psychology The typical teaching load is 45 credits per year, spread over three quarters.
Required Qualifications:
- MA or MS or EdS in an applied Psychology, School Psychology, or Counseling discipline or equivalent degree will meet the minimum requirement.
- Ability to teach courses within psychology and specific to specialty areas, as demonstrated by coursework, prior teaching experience, research, and/or publications/presentations.
- Some examples of teaching experience may be demonstrated through items such as a teaching training program, being a teaching assistant and other various forms of experience not specifically listed.
- Mastery of basic computer skills including word processing, database, email, and other forms of instruction technology.
- Experience working in clinics, mental health agencies, schools, or other facilities/settings in the provision of school psychology, counseling, and/or clinical psychology services.
- A high degree of interest in human and cultural diversity, social justice and experiential and community
- based education.
- Demonstrated ability to teach in online and hybrid formats using synchronous and asynchronous components.
- Demonstrated ability to apply a responsive and flexible approach that is supportive of the needs including universal access of our students, faculty, staff and the public.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.
D., Ed.
D. or ABD in Clinical Psychology, applied Health Psychology, Neuropsychology, Counselor Education/Counseling, or School Psychology is preferred
- Experience teaching university or college graduate level Psychology courses
- Commitment to quality teaching and student development
- Demonstrated ability to advise students and to supervise practicum/internship, applied experiences, and/or research
- Eligible for credential as a certified school counselor, licensed mental health counselor, certified school psychology, and/or licensed psychologist
