Jul 1, 2026 Job Description The Dyslexia Teacher provides specialized instruction and intervention for students identified with characteristics of dyslexia. This position supports student growth in reading, writing, and spelling through evidence-based practices and collaborates with staff and families to ensure student success.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver structured literacy instruction aligned to district-approved dyslexia programs Implement the Take Flight dyslexia curriculum (preferred) with fidelity Conduct dyslexia screenings and assessments to identify student needs and monitor progress Analyze student data to inform instruction and intervention decisions Maintain accurate records of student progress and services Collaborate with classroom teachers, interventionists, and administrators to support students Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress Participate in professional development related to dyslexia and structured literacy Travel between assigned school buildings to provide services
Qualifications:
Valid teaching license (required) Training in the Take Flight dyslexia curriculum (preferred) Experience administering and interpreting dyslexia assessments (preferred) Knowledge of structured literacy, phonological awareness, and reading intervention strategies Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
