Reading Interventionist (Full-Time)

05/13/2026 Good Shepherd Catholic School in Kendall (Miami Dade County), Florida has an opening for a full-time Reading Interventionist for the 2026-27 school year. This person will develop a schedule for intervention and enrichment instruction for grades K-8, provide small group and individualized reading instruction to students, monitor student progress using both formal and informal assessment tools, and maintain effective communication between parents and teachers regarding student progress. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and years of experience.
Qualifications:
BS/BA Degree in Elementary Education or Reading required.
Florida Department of Education certification in K-6 is preferred, temporary or professional. If not certified, candidate must be willing to attain certification in collaboration with administration.
Knowledge and skill in the use of instructional technology in the classroom.
Excellent classroom management skills.
Strong presentation skills with use of instructional technologies
Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; PowerPoint a plus.
Good oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
Strong spelling and grammar required.
Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
Must have knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
Must have a professional demeanor, including the dress code.
