This position is benefits eligible.
SUMMARY:
To teach digital literacy skills in support of the integration of technology into the lives of students as well as to support learning in school settings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaches skills, knowledge and scientific attitudes through courses in technology education and literacy to students utilizing curriculum designated by the school districtDevelops lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the basic instructional philosophy to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of studentsMaintain and advance the knowledge of digital learning resources and educational technologies to support teaching and learningInstructs students in subject matter specified in the Massachusetts Curriculum FrameworksPlans a technology education program involving demonstrations, discussions and student experiments; organizes activities for optimal learningInstructs students in the proper use, care and safe handling of equipmentEvaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards and keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports, checklists, and other record keeping activities as necessaryManages class operations by creating a positive class environment delivering instruction effectively by establishing high expectations for all students, presenting material in a developmentally appropriate mannerCommunicates with parents regarding student progressSupervises students in assigned out of classroom activities during the working dayModels ethical behavior, skills proficiency and responsible use of online and educational technology resourcesPerforms other related duties as assigned by the Principal
