Jun 29, 2026 Job Description Prospect Hill Academy Charter School is looking for qualified teachers to support literacy intervention in our July Summer Scholars Club, for selected students in rising grades 2-4. Teachers will be responsible for planning literacy intervention lessons for each group daily, based on identified learning targets. Teachers will track progress, share goals and outcomes with families, and provide strong learning facilitation during each session. The student program will run from June 29 - August 6, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, Monday - Thursday. Teacher hours will be from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, the first hour will be for preparation; the next three hours will be spent working with 3 different small groups (one hour daily for each group). Orientation dates: (2) 90-minute virtual sessions, June dates TBD (1) In-person session, 8:00 - 3:30, June date TBD
Required:
Demonstrated track record of effective small group literacy instruction Ability to analyze student learning data collected from daily instructional work, in order to monitor progress and adapt teaching Ability to develop positive and supportive relationships with students Ability to communicate with families about progress Understanding of the key role foundational skills development plays in literacy learning in Gr. 2-4 Strong understanding of how to teach phonics using a multi-sensory, sequential approach
Preferred:
Experience and/or license in literacy intervention Familiarity with FUNDATIONS and/or Orton Gillingham Familiarity with DIBELs
