We are seeking passionate and highly experienced, results-driven SAT English teachers with proven success in preparing students for the SAT Reading & Writing sections.
Position:
SAT English Teacher (Part-Time) Position Overview We are looking for an educator with a proven track record of delivering measurable SAT score improvements in Reading, Writing, and Language. The ideal candidate has extensive teaching experience, deep familiarity with the SAT exam structure, and the ability to design data-driven, results-focused lessons that consistently raise student performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver intensive SAT Reading & Writing instruction for middle and high school students. Develop rigorous, research-based lesson plans and practice materials. Provide targeted instruction on reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and analytical writing. Track, assess, and document measurable student progress. Conduct periodic mock exams and data analysis to adjust instruction. Communicate progress reports and actionable strategies to students and parents. Mentor students not only on test-taking strategies but also on academic writing skills that extend beyond standardized testing. Qualifications (Required): Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field. 7+ years of teaching experience in English instruction, with at least 5 years focused on SAT/ACT Reading & Writing. Demonstrated record of student SAT score increases ( minimum 150-250 points in English/Reading & Writing ). Deep understanding of SAT test design, scoring, and college readiness standards. Strong classroom management skills and ability to differentiate instruction for varying student levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching in competitive school districts (e.g., MCPS, private, or magnet programs). Published curriculum or experience developing proprietary SAT prep materials. Familiarity with data-driven instruction and progress-tracking tools. Experience coaching students for academic writing, AP English, or college essays.
