POSITION SUMMARY
To improve literacy instruction and student literacy outcomes through job-embedded coaching, professional learning, data analysis, and support for evidence-based literacy practices aligned to district and state requirements.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university Current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate Ability to design and deliver quality professional development for teachers Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience AND two years of successful Instructional Coaching experience Training in the Science of Reading AND Coaching Cycles
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitates teachers' understanding and implementation of the Oklahoma Academic Standards for English Language Arts and evidence-based literacy instruction. Provides job-embedded coaching support through classroom observations, modeling, co-planning, and effective feedback focused on improving literacy instruction and student outcomes. Supports teachers in implementing systematic and explicit literacy practices in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing. Develops teachers' capacity to collect, analyze, and respond to multiple sources of literacy data in order to improve student achievement and improve instructional decisions. Studies to become an expert in district initiatives and lead professional development workshops for sites, the district, and professional conferences as needed. Leads and facilitates professional learning opportunities related to literacy instruction, curriculum implementation, assessment practices, and district initiatives. Creates detailed literacy coaching plans that include focused goals and measures of success while providing direct and ongoing feedback to achieve goals. Supports the implementation of the district literacy curriculum, instructional resources, and assessments with fidelity. Assures compliance with the Strong Readers Act by monitoring required screening, progress monitoring, documentation, intervention practices, and Student Literacy Intervention Plans in accordance with state guidelines. Additional duties assigned by the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning.
LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule form, or blueprint form.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fume or airborne particles. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment will vary from somewhat loud to extremely loud. To ensure continuity of services, a different work location may be necessary in the event of a health crisis or disruptive situation that requires the closing of school and/or office buildings. An employee's eligibility for a varied work location will be determined by the superintendent of schools. Expectations and guidelines for this change will be distributed by the employee's supervisor, based on his/her role and responsibilities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee may occasionally be required to supervise a varying number of employees in the overall direction, coordination, and completion of tasks as assigned.
