CFHS Literacy Coach (.08)/ELA Teacher (.02) 1 year only Central Falls School District - 3.3 Central Falls, RI Job Details Full-time 8 hours ago Qualifications Teacher collaboration Professional development facilitation in schools Teacher training Teacher mentoring for professional development Mid-level Small group instruction Academic interventions Curriculum implementation Continuous improvement Instructional leadership in education Teacher coaching Classroom observations Data analytics Literacy education Teaching English language arts Progress documentation Professional development training Group tutoring Full Job Description General Duties Provide 1:1 and small group coaching grounded in Literacy pedagogy, research-based instructional practices, and the district adopted ELA curriculumsLead data analysis and action planning with teachers using available literacy dataModel (live or video) ELA lessons in classroomsWork with teachers to gain a deeper understanding of literacy curriculum and strategies for implementationBuild the capacity of educators to improve literacy learning and teaching to drastically improve student outcomesCreate coaching schedules and manage a coaching caseload of ELA teachers across grades 9-12Develop and utilize coaching agendas and plans to document teacher focus areas, action steps, and progress towards goalsMaintain a weekly coaching log to document frequency and type of coaching that has occurred Collaborate with school leaders and the Chief Academic Officer to provide coherent, differentiated, and targeted support for the school Participate in CFSD Coaches Professional Learning Community to learn with and from other coaches about coaching and leading for continuous improvement and participate in any other professional learning provided to district coaches including receiving 1:1 coaching from the Chief Academic Officer Participate in CFSD and external coaching training and collaboration, including RIDEs coaching training opportunitiesTeach one class during the school day to allow for a model classroom in which teachers can observe and to develop a deep understanding of implementation of the curriculumDevote 4 non-teaching periods a day to: modeling practice (live and through the use of video)observing and providing feedback supporting teachers within unit design, performance assessments, and lesson planning as neededproviding resources and strategies to teachers to meet school-wide and curricular goals supporting teachers in the implementation of the core ELA curriculum and any supplementary or literacy intervention curriculumssupporting all content teachers in developing students literacy skillsTake a lead role in CPT and Professional Learning time by: facilitating professional development and learning opportunities with departmental colleaguessharing and modeling best practice strategies for departmental colleagues
