Job Summary:
This position provides assistance to classroom teachers with literacy interventions and differentiation to students identified as having gaps in the area of reading/ literacy.
Responsibilities:
Employ positive reinforcement techniques. Implement interventions to students. Motivate student learners. Collaborate with classroom teachers, elementary reading teachers, and elementary curriculum leaders. Committed to collaboration with teachers and communicating. Establish/maintain frequent communications with parents/guardians. Proficiency in computer/technology skills. Willing and able to become a member of a collegial learning community. Perform related work as required.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Knowledgeable and skilled in providing differentiated learning strategies in the areas of literacy content and assessments. Knowledge of elementary foundations in literacy.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized and accredited college or university preferred; Associate's Degree with paraprofessional training is acceptable.
Certification & Licensing:
Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
Physical Requirements:
Walk, climb stairs, bend and lift up to 45lbs. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Must provide a current national background check without disqualifying results at time of hire.
