Job Description

At The Tutoring Center, Prosper, we bridge the gap between classroom learning and academic mastery. We provide high-quality, customized tutoring in Math, Reading, and Writing for K-12 students. Our curriculum is aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards, ensuring every student builds the exact foundational skills needed to succeed in school and on standardized assessments. As Head Instructor, you will oversee instructional excellence, coach instructors, and ensure students achieve meaningful academic growth. Role Responsibilities As the Head Instructor, you will oversee the daily academic operations, curriculum quality, and instructional team at our center. Your primary focus will be maintaining high educational standards, mentoring tutors, and ensuring measurable student progress aligned with Texas state standards.
Instructional Leadership & Quality Control:
Tutor/Monitor daily tutoring sessions to ensure high-quality teaching, effective student engagement, and alignment with
K-12 TEKS
guidelines.
Staff Mentorship:
Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and professional development to a team of part-time tutors and instructors.
Curriculum Management :
Oversee the delivery of personalized learning plans across K-12 Math, Reading, and Writing, adjusting materials to fit student needs.
Student Progress Tracking:
Prepare student progress reports to keep parents abreast of student's meeting their learning goals and their responsiveness to tutoring.
Center Operations:
Coordinate daily student-to-tutor ratios and scheduling to ensure smooth center flow, collaborating with center directors during consultations.
Required Qualifications Teaching Experience :
Minimum of 2-3 years of formal classroom teaching, instructional coaching, or education management experience.
Leadership Background :
Proven track record of managing, mentoring, or leading a team of educators, tutors, or instructional staff.
TEKS Mastery :
Deep, working knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards across K-12 grade levels (Math and ELA).
Schedule & Availability:
Ability to commit to 30 hours weekly on-site during peak after-school hours (Monday-Friday) and flexibility to work some Saturdays as needed for diagnostic testing or events.
Communication :
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a specific ability to build trust and translate educational metrics clearly for families. Certification (Preferred): Valid Texas Educator Certificate (SBEC) is highly preferred.
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
