This position is responsible for teaching the Making Money Count financial literacy program as designed to second graders in area schools. Additional financial literacy programs may be delivered as agreed upon with Financial Literacy Manager. The instructor pay amount will be a flat rate of $180.00 per day for the 2026-2027 school year.

Essential Responsibilities:

Successfully complete training to teach the Making Money Count™ lesson to second graders. Teach the Making Money Count™ lesson to second graders with high energy and expertise. Instruct curriculum with effective classroom management techniques. Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of the importance of maintaining TowneBank's high standards of excellence. Meet with Financial Literacy Manager regularly to discuss experiences, progress of program, performance, retrain and/or resolve any concerns or conflicts when appropriate and any related topics associated with the Making Money Count™ program. Organize and prepare materials to take to schools. Locate, prepare and follow map directions to schools. Write and mail thank you notes to individual classroom teachers within three days of school visit. Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned. Adheres to applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Skills or Competencies:

A college degree is required. Strong teaching and administrative skills are essential. Strong classroom management techniques and ability to effectively teach concepts using a variety of modalities are essential. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to successfully partner with classroom teachers, school administration, TowneBank management and fellow Instructors to achieve various goals, expectations and implementation of the Making Money Count ™program. Must have the ability to communicate and organize schedule with Financial Literacy Manager. Must have the ability to accomplish a broad range of tasks including teaching the lesson to second graders; establishing and maintaining a positive rapport with administrators and classroom teachers in area schools; preparing and organizing materials; and finding and following map directions to area schools. Must have the ability to prepare written reports and correspondence to the Financial Literacy Manager as required.

Desired Skills and Competencies:

A college degree in elementary education is strongly desired. (Teaching certifications do not need to be current.) A minimum of five years classroom teaching experience is greatly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word via email and verbally. Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, use your arms and legs, and sit most of the time. Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentation. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
