Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. Westchester Community College is more than just the county's largest educational institution. Job Description:
The Department of Health, Human Performance, & Physical Education is seeking an energetic and engaging Adjunct Faculty member to teach the three-credit course Kinesiology to students. The incumbent will provide instruction in the biomechanical basis of movement in sport and exercise and will identify essential elements for basic motor skills. They must emphasize the relationship between the skeletal & neuromuscular systems, and how these systems affect both coordinated movement and athletic performance. This is an in-person class.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of a Master's degree in Exercise Science or a closely related field from a recognized college or university, and one year of relevant experience is required. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build student rapport, foster a supportive learning environment, and promote student retention is required. All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
It is strongly preferred that the candidate possess: A Master's degree in Kinesiology 3+ years' experience teaching Kinesiology and/or 5+ years actively working in the field Experience with

$93.84 per hour. No benefits.
