The department averages 150 enrolled majors across all programs. Introductory courses are generally limited to a maximum of 30 students, while enrollment at the junior/senior level, especially laboratory courses, is typically in the low teens. In addition to the CoAES-accredited Exercise Science program, the Master of Athletic Training program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), and the Physical Education-Teacher Education program is accredited by the Vermont Agency of Education's Results Oriented Program Approval (ROPA) process to recommend K-12 Physical Education teacher licensure. Full-time faculty members are provided access to funding opportunities to attend conferences, maintain membership in professional societies, engage undergraduates in research, and further their own scholarship.
