EXEMPT X NON-EXEMPT JOB DESCRIPTION
To facilitate student comprehension and application of concepts skills and behaviors that contribute to the development of mature, able, and responsible members of society.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrate support for the school system and its vision, goals, and priorities.
  • Provide a rigorous curriculum that aligns with the Alabama Department of Education (ALSDE) and Career & Technical Education (CTE) Course of Study.
  • Sponsor a Career Technical Education Student Organization (CTSO) and participates in at least one program-related competition per year.
  • Adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policies, and state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, school and agency counselors, and related service providers in the overall educational plan for students enrolled in the education setting.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the individual education service and transition plan for students enrolled in the education setting.
  • Engage in professional growth & demonstrate professional ethics & leadership.
  • Use current technology for instruction and management purposes.
  • Ability to compile and analyze data, and interpret the laws, policies, and regulations pertaining to the work. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Effective oral and written communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to compile and analyze data, and interpret the laws, policies, and regulations pertaining to the work. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective oral and written communication.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Active Alabama license in one of the following: Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Licensed Practical Nurse (with earned Associate of Science degree), Physician, Physician Assistant, Paramedic, Pharmacist.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution and one year of full-time work experience in Health Science area OR currently holds a valid Teacher Certification in Health Science.
  • BLS Instructor Certification AND
  • 30 hours of earned State-recognized professional learning/technical updates in Healthcare field within the valid period of the certificate held.
