Joobilo Academic Community is seeking enthusiastic and engaging Science Teachers who love helping students explore the world through discovery, experimentation, and hands-on learning. We are currently hiring two Science Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for educators who can inspire curiosity through engaging lessons, hands-on activities, experiments, STEM projects, and real-world scientific exploration. Experience teaching science-related courses such as life science, earth science, physical science, biology, chemistry, engineering, robotics, or STEM is highly desirable. All classes are taught in person. About Joobilo Joobilo Academic Community is a homeschool organization serving students in grades K-12 through a variety of academic and enrichment classes. We partner with homeschooling families to provide engaging educational experiences in a supportive community. Understanding of Classical Education is a plus. Schedule Teaching schedules may vary by assignment and campus needs.

Typical teaching hours are:

Monday-Thursday:

8:00 AM - 2:30/4:30

PM, Friday:

8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Additional paid prep and grading time may be completed at home or in the office. Attendance is required at a monthly in-person staff meeting on Mondays from 4:00-5:30 PM. Specific teaching schedules, campus assignments, and work hours will be confirmed in the offer letter. Position Overview The ideal candidate is passionate about science, enjoys working with students, and can create engaging learning experiences that inspire curiosity and critical thinking. Candidates should be comfortable teaching elementary-aged students while fostering a classroom environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, investigate ideas, solve problems, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Responsibilities Implement science lessons and instructional activities in a fun, engaging, and hands-on manner Foster curiosity and excitement about scientific discovery Lead experiments, demonstrations, projects, and STEM-based learning activities Manage student behavior in accordance with school guidelines and expectations Maintain open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and school staff Keep accurate records of attendance, incidents, and other required documentation Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and thriving learning environment for all students Participate in school activities, events, and collaborative planning as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience (credential not required) Strong oral and written communication skills Proven ability to maintain a safe and academically focused classroom Experience developing and implementing curriculum Demonstrated ability to create age-appropriate and engaging learning experiences Experience teaching elementary science, life science, earth science, physical science, biology, chemistry, STEM, engineering, robotics, or other science-related subjects is strongly preferred Ability to facilitate hands-on experiments, investigations, and project-based learning Ability to build positive and professional relationships with students and families Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, push, pull, and move throughout the classroom as needed Compensation $23.00-$28.00 per hour , depending on experience Additional paid prep and grading time provided.
