  • Irvine, CA Part-Time | After-School & Weekend Golden Sunshine Academy is seeking an experienced and engaging Physics Teacher to teach middle and high school students in Irvine.
We are looking for an educator with strong subject knowledge who can help students build a deep understanding of physics while supporting their success in school coursework, Honors/AP classes, and advanced academic preparation. Responsibilities Teach small-group and/or 1-on-1 Physics classes for middle and high school students Teach courses such as Physics, Honors Physics, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, and/or AP Physics C Explain challenging concepts clearly and develop students' quantitative problem-solving and analytical skills Support students with their current school curriculum, exams, and advanced coursework Develop structured lesson plans and provide feedback on student progress Communicate with the Academy regarding student progress and instructional needs Provide enrichment or competition-level physics instruction when qualified Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Physics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Education, or a closely related field Strong knowledge of middle and high school physics Prior teaching experience with middle or high school students Teaching experience at an Orange County public or private school is strongly preferred Familiarity with the curriculum and academic expectations of Irvine and Orange County schools is highly preferred Experience teaching AP Physics is strongly preferred Current or former public/private school teachers are especially encouraged to apply Strong communication and classroom management skills Ability to make challenging physics concepts clear, rigorous, and engaging Preferred Experience Experience with one or more of the following is a plus: AP Physics 1 / AP Physics 2 / AP Physics C Honors Physics F=ma / USAPhO preparation Physics competitions STEM enrichment Advanced high school mathematics Schedule Part-time position. Classes are primarily scheduled after school on weekdays and on weekends . Exact schedule can be arranged based on teacher availability. Location Golden Sunshine Academy Irvine, California Compensation Competitive hourly rate based on education, teaching experience, AP/competition experience, and qualifications.
