Job Description

The Archer School for Girls in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a full-time Physics teacher beginning in August 2026. The Archer School for Girls is an educational community that supports and challenges young women to discover their passions and realize their true potential. Serving 500 girls in grades 6-12, Archer's joyful and ambitious program is founded on the latest research around how girls learn best. We are currently looking for an experienced Physics teacher with strong pedagogical skill, excellent content knowledge, facility in using educational technology, commitment to ongoing professional development, and passion for teaching and learning from young people. Responsibilities include teaching 4-5 sections, serving as a grade-level mentor to 8-10 students, and participating in co-curricular school activities like Archer's Annual Student STEM Symposium, STEM outreach, experiential trips, clubs, and committees. Opportunities for educational leadership are also a possibility. Science instruction at Archer is framed by Next Generation Science Standards and introduces driving questions within key domains while developing students' ability to think like scientists through inquiry-based labs and activities. Archer's capstone science courses incorporate advanced study and real-world research opportunities. Data science, design, and research are woven throughout the curriculum. A bachelor's degree in Physics, Science Education, or a related field is required; research experience and a master's degree are preferred. Candidates should have at least three years' experience teaching in a student-centered classroom, with a demonstrated ability to design engaging curriculum and collaborate effectively with colleagues. Experience teaching multiple levels of physics, including honors or advanced courses, is highly desirable. Salary Range:
