Salary Information:
Salary will be based upon compensation guidelines; with a range of $58,916 - $87,651. Description:
The JSerra Science Department is seeking a dedicated Chemistry Teacher who is responsible for cultivating an understanding of the molecular world, chemical reactions, and the structure of matter while actively supporting the integral formation of students' faith, intellect, and character. This role involves planning and delivering high-quality chemistry curricula, conduction engaging laboratory experiments, and guiding students through critical quantitative and qualitative analysis. The ideal candidate inspires scientific curiosity, connects theoretical concepts to real-world applications, and brings a passionate commitment to a collaborative, faith- centered educational environment. Qualified candidates would teach courses at the conceptual and college preparatory level. An interest in teaching college preparatory astronomy or college preparatory physics is also desirable. Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with departmental curriculum goals Assess, record, and maintain student progress through the school's online grading platform, Schoology Develop curriculum, teaching materials, and assessment strategies with fellow educators through PLC (professional learning community) meetings that are aligned with departmental curriculum goals Maintain a respectful and collaborative classroom environment. Conduct experiments in the laboratory conducive to scientific inquiry with and strong emphasis on safety. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school training opportunities Supervise students outside the classroom as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong interpersonal skills, including writing, speaking, and presenting Familiarity with laboratory safety and the use of modern chemical laboratory glassware. Able to oversee proper hazardous waste disposal, and ensure full compliance with laboratory safety regulations (OSHA/GHS standards).
