JOB SUMMARY

AlphaStar Academy is looking for an experienced computer science teacher who is passionate about working with 5-12 grade students.

JOB DUTIES

Teaching year-round programming courses in languages Python, Java, and C++. on weekends and weekday afternoons/evenings during the academic year. Teaching at Summer and Winter camps Computer science curriculum development: writing/editing problems, solutions, lecture notes, exams etc. Other Duties include traveling to computer science competitions/events and helping with computer science event organizations.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Bachelor's degree (in Math, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Computer Education related field is a big plus) Minimum 3 years teaching experience Work experience in 5-12 school setting Proficiency in C++, Phyton, and Java Can communicate well with colleagues, parents, and students Can work well in a team Enjoy problem-solving and teaching Experience in writing problems, creating exams Proficiency in Discrete Math and problem solving is a plus. Experience in participating or coaching Computer Science Competitions is a plus. USACO coaching or USACO contest experience is a plus.
