Range:
$58,401- $103,472 annually for teachers new to the District, based on education and experience. Salary for current District employees based on current placement on the salary schedule. Comprehensive family health, dental, vision and employee life insurance.
Qualifications:
Valid California Teaching Credential in Science Other demonstrated qualities/abilities should include:
- Valid teaching credential with authorization to teach Science at the junior high level
- Valid Bilingual Authorization (BILA) credential or commitment to enroll and complete a BILA program
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish with the ability to effectively teach and communicate in both languages
- Experience working in a dual immersion or bilingual education setting preferred
- Commitment to collaboration, teamwork, and professional growth
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Knowledge of inquiry-based learning, differentiated instruction, and culturally responsive teaching practices
- Willingness to pursue bilingual authorization if not already obtained

Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive Science lessons in both English and Spanish to 7th and 8th grade students in a dual immersion program
- Implement a standards-based curriculum that aligns with state and district guidelines, fostering inquiry-based learning and critical thinking skills
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners with varying academic abilities
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units and projects that integrate Science with other subject areas
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, supported, and motivated to learn
- Use a variety of assessment strategies to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly to ensure student success 2627-2 March 4, 2026
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to provide feedback on student progress, classroom activities, and upcoming events
- Participate in professional development opportunities and ongoing training to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices in dual language education and Science instruction
