Job Description:
The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of the Pacific invites applications for a three-semester, full-time Instructor position starting January 2, 2026. Non-tenure-track faculty members collaborate in fulfilling the University's mission to provide a superior, student-centered learning experience integrating liberal arts and professional education and preparing individuals for lasting achievement and responsible leadership in their careers and communities. University of the Pacific is located in Stockton, California, named as the most racially and ethnically diverse big city in the United States in a 2020 US News & World Special Report.
Essential Functions:
Non-tenure track faculty members engage primarily in teaching. Teaching responsibilities may include General Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, and potentially Microbiology depending on the candidate's expertise. Teaching responsibilities will be 3 courses over each semester. Research is not an expectation of this position. However, shared space and resources could be provided to allow applicants to maintain research projects and engage undergraduate research students if desired. Area of specialization is open.
