  • Design and implement engaging lessons that teach fundamental and advanced concepts in chemistry in partnership with the school's FFA agricultural sciences program.
  • Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet diverse student needs.
  • Conduct experiments and labs that allow students to learn how to apply lessons and learn to handle equipment and other materials safely.
  • Apply effective classroom management skills that create a positive environment that encourages inquiry, collaboration and respect for all students.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of grades, progress and attendance.
  • Assess student progress through multiple, varied and regular assessments.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding the progress of the student.
  • Work effectively with colleagues and administration in developing a strong school community.
  • Participate in professional development so as to remain up-to-date with changes in the field.
  • Make connections with university and industry chemists in order to better prepare students for careers in the sciences
  • Uphold school policies, procedures, and standards of conduct. Biweekly Pay Requirements / Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, science education, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of chemistry subject matter and laboratory procedures.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and support students with varying academic abilities.
  • Commitment to fostering a safe, equitable, and respectful learning environment. Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Valid teaching certification/license for secondary science instruction (state-specific requirements may apply).
  • Master's degree in Chemistry or Science Education
  • Industry experience
  • Previous teaching experience at the secondary level.
  • Able to teach Physics and AP Chemistry
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment design.
A current teaching credential is required.
