Job Description

Mater Academy Charter Middle/High School, an "A"-rated , college-preparatory charter school in Miami-Dade County, is seeking a Certified Middle and High School Science Teacher (Grades 6-12) to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year . This position involves teaching a variety of middle and high school science courses, such as Biology, Physical Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, and other related subjects , while fostering scientific thinking, curiosity, and academic excellence in a diverse student body. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or higher Florida Department of Education Certification in Science (Grades 6-12) (Temporary, Professional, or Statement of Eligibility accepted) Experience teaching middle or high school science preferred Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in Science for grades 6-12 Teach courses such as Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science, and other assigned subjects Develop and implement lesson plans that promote student mastery and achievement Support students in building strong inquiry, lab, and critical thinking skills Maintain a positive, structured, and student-centered classroom environment Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators Collaborate with the Science Department and contribute to school-wide initiatives Participate in professional development and remain current with best practices in science education Why Join Mater Academy Charter Middle/High School?
