The ideal candidate will have experience in higher education teaching and a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves not only delivering engaging lessons but also mentoring students and providing academic advising to support their educational journeys. Responsibilities Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote student engagement. Utilize creative writing techniques to enhance literacy education among students. Provide academic advising to help students navigate their educational paths and achieve their goals. Mentor students, offering guidance and support in both academic and personal development. Proofread and review student assignments, ensuring adherence to the Chicago Manual Style where applicable. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a collaborative learning environment. Organize classroom activities that encourage participation and enhance learning outcomes. Requirements Proven experience in higher education teaching or a similar educational setting. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage diverse groups of students. Excellent organizational skills to manage lesson planning, student assessments, and classroom activities effectively. Familiarity with academic advising principles and practices is preferred. Knowledge of proofreading techniques, particularly in relation to the Chicago Manual Style, is advantageous. A commitment to mentoring students and supporting their growth in literacy education and creative writing.
