About Us Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree-granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. MGA has five campuses-Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, and Warner Robins, all located in central Georgia-and global outreach through its fully-online campus. Job Summary This position will provide a wide variety of operational, instructional, and administrative laboratory support services for faculty and students. The Clinical Instructor identifies, enhances, and follows specific processes and procedures to maximize the efficiencies of clinical activities conducted in the laboratory; ensures the correct functioning of facilities and equipment; uses independent judgement, discretion, and advanced technical and operation skill to ensure quality lab experiences for students. Participates in practical examinations and assists with program planning and evaluation when needed. Responsibilities Work collaboratively to provide clinical lab instruction and support (60%)
  • Prepare classroom and lab materials for classes/labs and clean up/restore classroom and lab areas Teach selected OT and Rehab Science skills as assigned by faculty members Assist in the development of instruction materials for clinical labs and practical examinations Assist in all OT and Rehab Science clinical lab instruction Coordinate OT and Rehab Science practical examination schedules Assume the role of the client in OT and Rehab Science practical examinations Grade selected OT and Rehab Science lab assignments as requested by faculty Assist with scheduling guest speakers for labs Coordinate and implement open lab opportunities for OT and Rehab Science students Performs related duties as assigned Provides clinical laboratory support services (30%)•Coordinates clinical activities in an instructional laboratory, providing support services to faculty and students Develops and implements policies, procedures, and standards for lab operations to ensure the efficiency, effectiveness, and safety of the laboratory Evaluate lab equipment as used on a weekly/monthly basis Collaborate with faculty to ensure that equipment and operational needs are met Provides support and assistance related to facilities and equipment issues and repairs Inventory relevant lab equipment each semester (i.
e. splinting and pediatric labs, etc.) Assist with the coordination of clinical fieldtrips; provide supervision on fieldtrips when appropriate Assists with the ordering, purchasing, inventory, storage, and maintenance of supplies, lab ware, and instruments essential to the operation of the lab Organize classrooms an laboratory rooms Maintain PPE supply and ensure correct usage Performs related duties as assigned Performs a variety of related duties (10%)
  • Collaborate on the preparation of a variety of reports, including program evaluation, accreditation reports, graduate surveys, etc.
Answers telephone calls and emails; determines nature of requests and responds accordingly Participate in Professional Behavior Assessments as requested Assist in student advising Participate in professional development including continuing education for state licensure Performs related duties as assigned Required Qualifications Required Educational Qualifications Bachelor¿s degree in Occupational Therapy. Required Experience Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with 3 years of clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist. Other Required Qualifications Currently licensed and Certified Occupational Therapist. Ability to initiate tasks and work independently in order to complete tasks in a timely manner.
