Full-time Instructor in Physical Chemistry Coe College - 4.3 Cedar Rapids, IA Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Working with post-secondary students Working with undergraduate students Student-centered approaches (student motivation techniques) Full Job Description Full-time Instructor in Physical Chemistry Coe College invites applications for a full-time Instructor in Physical Chemistry, beginning January 2027. We seek a teacher‑scholar who is passionate about undergraduate education and high‑impact teaching practices. Primary Responsibilities Teach Physical Chemistry (thermodynamics, kinetics, and/or quantum chemistry) along with the associated laboratory Teach General Chemistry with laboratory or an additional course or laboratory aligned with the candidate's area of expertise/interest Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and departmental service Hold regular office hours and be responsive to student email questions Qualifications A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, or a closely related field (ABD considered with evidence of timely completion) Demonstrated excellence—or clear potential—for effective, student‑centered undergraduate teaching Ability to teach physical chemistry and general chemistry with associated laboratories About the Position This position is a renewable (annually evaluated as college needs require), benefits-eligible appointment with the opportunity for professional growth—including participating in undergraduate research—within a collaborative and student‑focused department.
