Instructor of Chemistry for Spring 2026 semester. Schedule dependent upon assigned classes. Salaries are dependent upon education and semesters taught at MCC per the MCC Adjunct Faculty Agreement 24/25 (Download PDF reader) . Position Summary This division is home to the following: Chemistry MCC instructors are higher-education professionals who champion student learning. They engage and inspire students, applying innovative teaching and learning pedagogies in instruction. They assess student learning to ensure students success, staying abreast of trends in the discipline. Our instructors collaborate within the College as discipline experts, helping the College reach its strategic goals through active participation in college committees and by promoting the College to future students throughout our community. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities Teach courses assigned by the College. Proficient teaching courses via in person, blended or online modalities. Available to teach daytime, evening, or weekend classes, as needed Available for student conferences either before or after class, and by college email if necessary Develop syllabus using MCC syllabus template Work cooperatively within the department, the division, and throughout the College in striving for educational excellence Conduct regular assessment of student learning Maintain and submit accurate student and course-related paperwork and data needed for college purposes in a timely fashion Document and report attendance daily and maintain and submit accurate attendance records weekly Submit grade reports electronically by the required date Utilize a variety of teaching styles to satisfy the different learning styles of students Utilize computer-based instruction and databases when necessary Required Qualifications Course specific minimum qualifications (Download PDF reader) are approved annually by the Board of Trustees and are available in all Academic Division Offices. Demonstrated teaching experience is preferred. Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds. Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
