Position Overview:

New Castle High School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated High School Science Teacher to join our instructional team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong content knowledge in science, a passion for engaging students in scientific inquiry, and a commitment to fostering a rigorous and supportive learning environment that prepares students for college and career readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with Indiana Academic Standards in one or more science disciplines (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science). Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, laboratory experiences, and technology to support diverse learners and promote critical thinking. Create a structured, safe, and engaging classroom environment that fosters student curiosity, collaboration, and scientific literacy. Develop and implement both formative and summative assessments; analyze data to guide instruction and improve student outcomes. Incorporate real-world applications and interdisciplinary connections to enhance student learning and relevance. Collaborate with department members and staff to ensure alignment of curriculum, assessments, and instructional practices. Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school improvement initiatives. Maintain timely and effective communication with students, parents/guardians, and staff regarding student progress and expectations. Uphold school policies and contribute positively to the culture and mission of New Castle High School.

Requirements:

Must hold or be eligible for a valid Indiana teaching license. Certification in Secondary Science (Grades 5-12) in an appropriate content area.
