Job Description

This position begins August 1, 2026 Job Description We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to join our team of educators. The Middle School Science Teacher will be responsible for inspiring students to explore the wonders of the natural world, develop critical thinking skills, and cultivate a deep understanding of scientific concepts and principles. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to foster curiosity, inquiry, and a love of science in middle school students. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging science curriculum for middle school students, covering a range of scientific disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, and environmental science. Plan and deliver hands-on, inquiry-based lessons that encourage students to explore scientific phenomena, conduct experiments, and make connections between scientific concepts and real-world applications. Integrate technology, multimedia resources, and laboratory experiences to enhance instruction and provide students with authentic opportunities to investigate scientific concepts and phenomena. Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and actively participate in scientific inquiry and discourse. Guide students in developing scientific inquiry and process skills, including observation, data collection and analysis, hypothesis testing, and communication of findings. Incorporate interdisciplinary connections and cross-curricular activities to promote a holistic understanding of science and its connections to other subject areas. Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to support student growth and development. Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and promote interdisciplinary connections within the school community. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, upcoming projects, and opportunities for involvement in their child's science education. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or related field (Required). Teaching certification/license in Science (Preferred). Prior experience teaching science subjects at the middle school level preferred. Strong knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics concepts and principles. Enthusiasm for STEM education and a genuine passion for inspiring students' curiosity and interest in STEM fields. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students in STEM learning. Creativity and innovation in lesson planning and instructional delivery. Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages inquiry, collaboration, and problem-solving.
