This position begins August 1, 2026 Job Description The Independent School seeks a dedicated educator to teach Upper School science courses, including Physics and Chemistry. This adjunct position is ideal for an experienced science teacher or industry professional who brings real-world knowledge to the classroom and enjoys mentoring young scientists.
Responsibilities:
Deliver rigorous and inquiry-based instruction in high school Physics and/or Chemistry Support student learning through hands-on experiments and lab activities Provide individualized feedback and academic support Foster an inclusive classroom that encourages scientific curiosity Communicate effectively with students and families about academic progress Attend faculty meetings and professional development sessions as needed Utilize Schoology and PowerSchool to deliver instruction and maintain student records Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, or related field (Required) Prior experience teaching high school or college-level science preferred Strong organizational and instructional skills Commitment to student-centered and experiential learning Our Mission To provide a superior, independent, college preparatory education, while serving a diverse student population in a safe, supportive community, conducive to the intellectual, emotional and physical growth of each Independent student.
