Organization Information Barbourville Independent is one of the oldest continuously operated school districts in Kentucky with an ever-increasing enrollment for students in preschool through twelfth grade. Specialized instructors offer coursework in art, music, technology, business, foreign language, and physical education. Advanced placement classes as well as dual credit options with local colleges and universities offer rigorous courses of study and the opportunity to earn college credit. Other educational services provided include gifted and talented programs, speech therapy, occupational therapy, school counseling, intervention services, and special education collaboration services. These, combined with our comparatively small atmosphere, give our students a sense of "family" as they engage in a nationally recognized educational experience.
